Behaviour Support Worker

Are you a nurturing, dedicated individual who can provide the best quality care and support to children and young people? We are looking for committed professionals who have had experience working with supporting adults or children. Experience in an educational setting is not necessary providing you are hard working and willing to learn.

A specialist school based in Darwen catering for children with SEMH need are looking for you. The school is a ‘Good’ rated innovative provider of education and care, supporting students aged 10-19 with complex needs such as Aspergers Syndrome and Autism. Staff here provide personalised, tailored academic support in a welcoming environment.

Key Duties:

  • Provide high quality care and support to pupils which may include – personal care, administering medication, supporting learning on a 1:1 basis or a small group scenario.
  • Follow the pupils EHC plans the ensure they are meeting their targets and receiving the care they require.
  • To be able to manage challenging behaviour, to remain calm and professional in a high pressures situations whilst still putting the pupils first.

Key Information:

  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday (8:30-3:30pm) start date ASAP or 1st September 2024.
  • Term-time only role.
  • PAYE contract.
  • Primary SEMH Provision.
  • Darwen based, (BB2).
  • Competitive hourly rate of pay of £12.90+ per hour depending on experience and additional duties.
  • Child DBS on the update service.
  • Need to obtain references from two most recent employers.
